Spring weekend

The sun came out this weekend, so we just had to get out.  It was a busy weekend with haircuts, birthday parties, sleepovers and dinners out.  Not to mention the normal laundry, groceries, family time that goes into weekends.

Ben has pretty much given up on napping on the weekends.  He naps every day at school, but on the weekends he fights it.  We decided to just let it be and give him quiet time.  However, that doesn't mean he isn't tired!  He simply cannot fight the car or the jogger stroller.  This weekend I decided to kill two birds with one stone.  I broke out the jogger and got in my run while he took a snooze.  Win-win!

Not even the passing train could wake him up when we stopped to stretch!

Then, after such a great nap, Ben was beyond excited to go for a sleepover at Meggie's house.  He put on his best mis-matched Christmas PJ's (OK, he was already wearing those), his cheerios necklace, sunglasses and sneakers.  Packed up his special bumble bee blanket and we were on our way!  He watched Frozen and had a great night.  Another win for all of us!

Chris and I got some one-on-one time with Tommy; which was great since that is rare.  (((((second babies))))  We went out to dinner at Panera Bread, and Tommy was digging his buttered noodles and yogurt!  A great weekend all around!

Superheroes and Playgrounds

There has been a lot of creative and imaginative play around the house lately.  Anything that can be used as a sword becomes a sword.  Gloves, boots and capes - all great accessories to become whoever you want to be.

Now that the Spring has finally decided to show up, we have been outside a lot.  Since our yard is currently unavailable to us since it's being re-seeded, we have been at the parks around town a LOT.  No matter where we go, the slide is always the biggest hit.

Silly boys

Hiding under the crib and playing peek-a-boo together.  Sneaking into the pantry and eating snacks as quiet as 2 little mice.  And holding hands after school on a sunny day.

Cute little trouble makers!

We love you, Colorado!

Our first family trip to Colorado was a success!  Here is our trip in pictures...

Arriving at the airport.  Ready to go!

One of the top 10 inventions ever.  Wheels that attach to the car seat to turn it into a roller.  Tommy loved it.

Travelin' like a boss.

"Hey ladies.  Come here often?  No?  Me neither - first time on a plane."  ; )

Loving the Colorado sunshine

We went to an indoor playground and the boys loved this playhouse more than anything else.

Ahoy!

I see you!

Who wants to take a nap when you can watch Frozen (again)?!

Ryder and Uncle Chris

Brooksley and Tommy loving the bouncy castle

"I already told you, mom - I don't need a nap..."
Great view

Making and Eating Spaghetti

Ben's preschool class has been learning all about pizzarias and how they work.  One of the things they talked about was what other foods you can get at a pizzaria.  They decided spaghetti was their favorite food, other than the pizza.  So today in class, they made spaghetti with their teachers.  These are a few pics from the teachers.

Can't talk - busy eating!

I have no idea what you're talking about.  What spaghetti?

Almost out of winter (please?!)

We were supposed to get another foot of snow today.  Last week we were asked to prep lessons that the kids could do on their snow day.  Thank God that didn't happen!!  Actually, we got no snow.  The best kind.  ; )  So, today was a regular day in that sense.

Tommy was sick over the weekend, so I kept him home another day.  We never get to have Mommy and Tommy days just us, so it was actually kind of nice.  We did play dough, lots of books, visited our camp friends at the office, took a (short) nap, AND - Tommy found out that he absolutely loves the old coffee maker that was sitting in our basement.  I had to bring him down there to do laundry and he didn't even want to leave!

This weekend while Tommy was home sick with Chris, I took Ben to the Maple Sugar Festival.  He did NOT care about the sap, the boiling, the syrup - nothing could stop him from getting to that maple donut!!  Once we had our donuts he was happy to explore the farm, read the signs and watch the animals.

C'mon Spring - you know you wanna come to Connecticut!

Had to stop for a milk break on the way back to the car
