So much has been going on. I just realized last night that it has been nearly a month since I posted on the blog. Every day life getting in the way of blogging
; )
The boys have been quite sick this winter - one cold after the other. It looks like we are taking a turn for the better heading into Spring now. But, I will never say never. These boys certainly keep us on our toes.
Tommy is 9 months old and checked out perfectly healthy at his doctor's visit this week. He weighs nearly 20 pounds which puts him in the 50th percentile for weight. His height is dead on average too. He has two teeth and is babbling and drooling constantly. He is cruising on furniture, holding himself up and getting ready to walk. My guess is he will be walking by his first birthday.
Ben is thriving as well, although he is in the thick of toddler-hood. He throws tantrums like it's his job, and can whine with the best of 'em. But, overall he is smart and calm - just headstrong. He is working on putting on his own sneakers and getting better at that every day. He puts on his own jacket and hat like a champ. It's hard to believe that he will be 3 years old in just 2 more months. He is moving closer to independence every day, but he still loves to snuggle and read with mom and dad. I'll take that for as long as I can get it!
So, life goes on and we are moving forward every day just doing our thing. Can't wait to be out of the house and on the playground or in the backyard!

Weekend Update
This weekend was packed with activities for us. Fridays always seem busy since it's the end of the week and we're all so tired. READ: Tommy finally cut his first tooth so we have NOT been sleeping well at all around here. I'm pretty sure we were in bed at 9. Wild night!
Saturday morning I took Ben to the mall to play on the indoor playground space they have there since it was so cold out. After a half hour or so of play, we ran a few errands. Since he was SUCH a good listener, we went to the toy store and got him...wait for it...a new car. He got the Chick Hicks car from Cars 1. He was pumped!
Saturday night we had a family birthday party for uncle Tim, and Ben was happy to run around and show everyone his loud dinosaur "roaaarrrr!". Good times.
Sunday morning we were all up early and ready to go to NYC to see Sesame Street Live! It was a special Mommy, Daddy and Ben date. Little bro Tommy stayed home with Meggie. And thank goodness, because it was C-O-L-D in the city!! Like, we picked up Ben and ran across the streets kind of cold. Yowza! But, it was well worth it. At first he was overwhelmed by the city and the show, but then about half way through he loosened up and really started to like it.
Tomorrow we are off for Presidents day and we have a full day of play dates, lunches and babysitters ready to go. Who needs to go skiing for the long weekend when you can have this much fun at home?! ; )

Snow Day!
We got a big snow storm today so no school for the boys or for me. Woohoo! It started off slowly, but by the afternoon we were able to play outside a little bit. Of course, it took us longer to get everyone dressed and outside than the actual amount of time that we played out there. Tommy was NOT into it at all, but who can blame him?! It's freaking cold and windy and miserable out there! Makes me wish for the years to come where we can all actually enjoy time out in the snow. But for now, 10 minutes outside in the snow is good enough!
Before going outside we spent the day playing with cars and trucks, painting pictures on the easel, watching a little TV, reading books and making pizza. Busy day! And, more to come tomorrow and Sunday since it looks like we'll be inside most of the weekend until we get plowed out of here.

Busy Bees
Or should I say, sick as dogs? We have been both sick and busy around here. I swear the boys have had the same nasty cough and cold since mid-December. Chris and I both got hit with a bad virus. Still not convinced it was the flu, but it was pretty bad. We are so OVER being sick in this house. Enough already!
Now that Chris is away for a friend's wedding we are staying busy with at home with art projects, movies, gym class, visits to Meggie's house, and anything else we can think of.
These boys are growing up so fast. Best buds in the making.

New Year, but still not much time to catch up
We have been busy around here. After Christmas we got some snow, so we delayed our trip to Mimi and Poppi's house by a day. After that and then the 3 1/2 hour car ride, it was well worth it to spend some quality time up there with family. Ben and Tommy were showered with even MORE Christmas presents. Ben finally got his guitar that he's been asking for, as well as a ton of new cars and clothes. Tommy got all kinds of toys that he can chew on as well as clothes and books. Thank you Santa!
Ever since we got back home, Tommy has been fighting a nasty cold. Hopefully by Monday he'll be close to normal because I have to go back to work! It will be nice to get back on schedule again. This has been a long break and I am going to be happy to get things moving again.
Nothing exciting to report other than the normal chaos of our family. Enjoy some pics ; )
